From an Estate Sale of 1960's-1980's CRYSTAL & CHINA, we offer from the BACCARAT CRYSTAL MANUFACTORY in France, a STUNNING HEAVY CRYSTAL 4 1/2" high by 3 1%2" wide MUSTARD JAR WITH COVER. Scalloped rim on bowl - HEXAGONAL CUT "BRETAGNE" PATTERN OF PANELS ON COVER, FINIAL, BODY OF JAR AND FOOT.  With acid etched Baccarat hallmark on underside.
NOTE ON BRETAGNE PATTERN: a sugar bowl with lid; a mustard jar with lid; and, a jan/jelly jar with lid were all made with this cutting. They all appear to be the same and many of the jars sold or offered for sale are miscategorized. However, it is easy to tell the difference: the sugar bowl and jam/jelly are about 1" taller than the mustard and the sugar does not have a cutout on the lid while the jam/jelly has the cutout.
CONDITION: superb without any cracks, chips, nicks or stain - appears to have been never used - couldn't find and scratches/marks.
PROVENANCE/ATTRIBUTION: marking confirm this items as being from Baccarat Crystal. Also, it is shown on the Websites of the Crystal Replacements Services as a Baccarat Bretagne mustard jar.
