    Description

Hello. My name is Don Thompson. Let me tell you a story. I started playing darts in 1985 in Chicago. I played both steel tip and plastic bar darts. When I moved to Georgia I played steel darts and traveled through out the states. I was known as Donny Darts back then. I have won tournaments from Tennessee to South and North Carolina, Florida, Alabama and Vegas. I won the Jim Seals dart tournament in St. Louis which sent me to Vegas where I beat Jerry Umberger in Mixed trips. In the four states mentioned my partner and I were Doubles Cricket Champions 4 years in a row culminating with a loss in North Carolina in 1987. I played out of a watering hole called Docs in Smyrna Georgia and traveled the city playing team darts for a number of years. I've played against Rob Lowe from England in the Bahama's Tourney in 1986 or maybe 87 and lost unfortunately. You can look me up in the Bulls Eye news I was in there for many years.
Anyway, why am I tooting my horn here? Well, I think that if you buy THIS set of darts you're not just buying a great set of darts but your buying nostalgia. I held these babies in my hands during countless practice hours, bar tourney's, and major tournaments. These are original 1985 hammerhead GT darts. In fact I was checking around and found that Bottelson seems to be the originator of these darts but to tell you the truth I thought they had a different name back then. This was during a time when Rick Nye (my nemesis) was throwing Golden Eagles and think he also sponsored this brand that I bought although after almost 40 years I just can't remember. Anyway I don't play darts anymore. I king of gave up drinking in 1991 along with the bar life. I'm retired now and thought maybe there's a dart player out there who needs a great set of darts with some background. I wasn't exactly famous or anything. Maybe you'll have great luck on the boards with these babies. As fat as they are I punched up a whole slew of ton eighties. I actually missed a perfect cricket game by 2 shots (pissed me off that day). This set actually has the same flights I used in my last tourney ( I would replace them though). Anyway, enjoy the darts, shake hands, and play well.
