Up for sale is an absolutely perfect pair of vintage gold-trimmed cremax depression glass "Petalware" 8 inch salad plates by MacBeth Evans Glass! MacBeth Evans made their Petalware pattern in 1930, and both of these salad plates are in fine condition - no chips, cracks, flakes, fleabites, nicks or roughness anywhere, and the glass is nice and shiny with no stains, utensil scratches, or other marks. The Cremax color is a very creamy shade that's a bit more beige than the white Monax color. The gold trim around the edges is about 99% intact - there are one or two spots where the gold is starting to show signs of some age-appropriate wear, but for the most part they're in remarkable shape! They glow with fiery orange opalescence when they're held up to the light. They're guaranteed to be vintage - not reproduction or new glass. The Petalware pattern can be seen photographed in Gene Florence's "Collector's Encyclopedia of Depression Glass". The buyer will pay shipping (and insurance if desired).
