A splendid resource for the genealogist.  The Newberry Library, a private, open-to-the-public research library in Chicago since 1887, is world-famous.  Included in its collections is a Local and Family History section - vital for the genealogist.
Overall description of the collection, then detail by section - Periodicals, Government publications, Maps, Atlases, Federal Population, Non-Population, State Censuses, then Church records, followed by Ethnic and Native American sources.
Military and Veterans' records, Heraldry, Passenger Lists, Naturalization Records, Family Histories, Local Histories, Miscellaneous Collections from Mail Order Catalog records to Indian Captivity Narratives to Mormon LDS records.  Then sections on the U. S. states, broken down into six chapters, including Alaska and Hawaii.  Finally, foreign sources.  A remarkable guide to the resources available at the Newberry.
From the research (noncirculating) library of the Ohio Genealogical Society.  A 'Donated To' plate, front endpage, and a donator's handstamp, ffep and copyright page.  An OGS handstamp marked 'Discard', on the title page.  That's it.  A spectacular find for the genealogist, historian.  These books never circulated - strictly noncirculating, research volumes.
The boards are Very Good, no wear, but a bit of lightening at the bottom edges where we presume a Library sticker was removed.  The interiors are in Like New condition.
