This listing is for a OOAK of artist doll by  American Artist Kathy Redmond Circa 1990 era.  The 17” Mountain Chief is an amazing OOAK Native American Character doll. Truly sensation.
The beaded costume is  all hand sewn and made of suede with fringes. Look at the beading, look at his hand molded hands, Look at that weathered face. This art figure is one of the best  Native American  characters I have ever seen in hand molded porcelain. He has porcelain brown  shoes.
There is some feather loss to the head dress.
There is most likely a signature  on the neck but the  beaded suede clothing is not removable. The artist tag comes with the figure. There is no doubt this is a Redmond artist figure.
Kathy  has been perfecting her historical and her fashion ladies and children dolls for about 25 years. All her  figures and dolls are not specific in editions and then there are one of a kinds and others were made for UFDC conventions. The study of Kathy’s  dolls is fascinating,
Almost all her art dolls  are made of  Hand molded porcelain  shoulder-plates some with elaborate detailed hair and head dresses. Then she  creates some with molded porcelain waistlines or  the dolls cloth bodies that have  hand molded legs and  shoes.
Kathy Redmond of Pennsylvania USA makes absolutely stunning  figures and dolls with fine molded details in the hair and body and in facial character. She creates  figures and dolls of history  and  fashion ladies with fine detailed clothing. Few of her art dolls have boxes and some convention dolls did come with boxes.
There is no strict way to identify Kathy Redmond Dolls dolls except that Kathy signs her dolls with the cat with an K sometimes it can look like an R. Sometimes clothing covers this signature.
Some dolls have  the artist tags and some do not. But as you research her  figures and artist dolls you can begin to recognize the fine details of the molded porcelain. There is no mistaking a Redmond Art doll. Kathy has been very prolific in her creation of historical characters and fashion.
