    Description

    This mustache cup and brush was purchased new by Edward J. Indvik (1861 - 1958) who was born in Norway and settled in the Thompson area of Winnebago County, Iowa. His father was Ingeborg Olesdatter Indvik (1822-1911).
    Edward married Martha "Bjelland" Indvik (1865-1943) in 1882 and the couple had four children:
    Ingeborg S Indvik (1893–1893)
    Sidney Indvik (1897–1981)
    Ellen M. "Indvik" Hanson (1901–1974)
    Helmer Indvik (1903–1987)

    The Three Crown China hallmark on the cup was exclusive to pieces produced by Unger & Schilde of Roschuetz, Thuringia, Germany, for Jon H. Roth of South Bend, Indiana, from 1909 to 1916.

    There is a "U" shaped hairline crack that originates 5/8" to the right of the handle's lower connection to the cup. This hairline continues left under the handle and terminates at the rim 1 1/2" to left of the handle's upper connecting to the mug.
    There is some separation of the glaze between the ledge and the internal wall of the cup. The upper gold coloring on the rim has rub wear. The unglazed foot on the underside has 3/16" long old oval chip.
