    was born 10 Jan 1797 in Stoddard, NH. He was the son of
    Danforth Taylor
    (1769-1858) &
    Tabitha Fletcher
    (1770-1859), and the grandson of Minuteman Jonas Taylor, who answered the Alarm at  Lexington. Jacob married
    Mary Harnden
    (1801-1890) on 28 Jun 1828 at Stoddard, NH. She was the daughter of
    Augustus Harnden
    &
    Mary "Polly" Pratt
    Three children:

    Joanna Gilson
    . Moved his family to Rochester, NY, and with his  brother, Frank, started what would become the Taylor Instrument Company.
