    Description

    This is a Key Date 1979-S Type 1, or Closed S, Proof Lincoln
    Cent.  This coin was removed by myself from its original Proof Set with gloved hands using the utmost care.  This is a beautiful coin with deep mirrors and ultra cameo contrast.  Any color you see is the reflection of my pink camera in the mirrored fields of the coin. The 1979-S Type 1 and Type 2 coins resulted from a change in mint mark style at the San Francisco Mint partway through the year in 1979, resulting in these coins having lower mintages than their Type 1 Counterparts...in the case of the Kennedy Half and Anthony Dollar, MUCH lower mintages!!  I have tried my best to capture the mint mark in the photos but my camera can be troublesome with small mint marks sometimes.
